The e-learning trainings of 2025 have been completed and are freely available to higher education institutions. With the 2025 trainings, there are a dozen e-learning trainings available to higher education institutions aimed at increasing the competence of staff in e-learning.
As with previous trainings, the 2025 trainings have been published at the Library of Open Educational Resources, where the trainings are available in Finnish, Swedish and English. There are four trainings that have been published now.
Producing micro-content in a team
The training covers the best tips and practices for producing micro-contents as teamwork. The training is based on the micro-learning principle and consists of three sections in the Moodle learning environment. The videos and podcast of the training can be viewed on the Digivisio YouTube channel.
Planning and creating a MOOC
The training familiarises learners with MOOC studies and their planning: what is required to implement a successful MOOC course module? The training has been implemented as digital material on the Moodle platform.
Towards unified online courses
The training focuses on the planning of learning in a learner-oriented manner, the possibilities of activating the learner, assessment, giving feedback, as well as accessibility. The training consists of three sections in the Moodle learning environment.
Competence-based description of education for continuous learners
The training examines competence-based description of education from the perspective of continuous learners and higher education institutions, as well as the opportunities offered by bold digital pedagogy. The training is based on the principle of micro-learning: it consists of three podcasts that can be listened to on the Digivisio YouTube channel.

Use the training as it is or modify it to meet the needs of the higher education institution
Higher education institutions can freely use the trainings and also modify them as necessary. The CC-BY-SA 4.0 licence allows the material to be adapted to the higher education institution’s own needs. For example, it is a good idea to add information on the tools available at the higher education institution and other more detailed instructions to the training.
Podcasts and videos that support micro-learning can be transformed into new kinds of entities by utilising only parts of them or combining them with, for example, self-produced episodes. Moodle backups can also be reduced or supplemented with one’s own materials.
If you are making a new version of the training, it is good to share it at the Library of Open Educational Resources if the version is also useful for other higher education institutions. The new training can be linked to the original material in the service.
Give feedback on the training
The Library of Open Educational Resources provides an opportunity to add an assessment of the training and to view the assessments given by others for each training. In addition to a numerical assessment of the content and appearance, the assessment also includes an opportunity to provide open feedback on the training. Feedback is visible to other users and helps to further develop the trainings.
