Higher education institutions and the Digivisio 2030 programme have jointly updated the programme’s target scenario taking into account changes in the operating environment. The Digivisio target scenario puts into words the shared ambitions of Finnish higher education institutions for teaching and learning in the 2030s.
The original target scenario of the Digivisio 2030 programme was created in the early stages of the programme in 2021. The current update is based in particular on changes in the operating environment and the advancement of the programme to its second stage. In the second phase of Digivisio, increasing emphasis is placed on issues related to data and the utilisation and management of artificial intelligence as well as perspectives related to the guidance of learners and the education ecosystem.
”In higher education institutions, we have a good understanding of the future opportunities offered by a shared data platform. This now updated target scenario reflects the common goal of the higher education sector to intensify strategic cooperation and to continue building shared services that benefit learners,” says Vesa Saarikoski, Chair of the Digivisio 2030 programme steering group and Rector of JAMK University of Applied Sciences.
The target scenario was updated in workshops and discussions with the management of higher education institutions throughout the spring of 2025.
“In the process of updating the target scenario, we engaged in an important discussion on a shared vision of the future and what kind of foundation for learning and higher education we are committed to building together. The target scenario serves as the backbone of all project development work,” explains Hanna Nordlund, Project Manager at Digivisio.
